Start sequence, stage 2 update and motorcycle (w.i.p.)


Quite a few updates since last devlog!

  • The palm trees in stage 2 are gone and made room for grass and smaller trees. The grass was something I was experimenting with right before my hard drive failed. Now I took the time to redo this.
    You can already see this update when you download the game, but I still have to build and upload the web version.
  • You now have to wait for the green light before the race starts.
  • You're racing against an opponent now. Because he can't choose the fastest racing line yet, he's a bit of a cheater. When he's in front of you, he will slow down, when he's behind you, he will be able to take corners with impossible speeds. Winning or losing against him doesn't do anything yet.
  • I'm working on a motorcycle, ripped straight from Super Hang-On. It runs already, it has the same boost feature, but it's missing some decent engine sounds, the correct visual effects and the crashing animations. And because my physics engine doesn't seem to work properly with very light vehicles, I'm using the simplified AI physics for this one.
  • Various small updates...
