ABS & traction control
I took the time to reprogram the ABS and, because I can, add traction control for the automatic transmission.
First of all I've split the engine force and brake force between the front and rear wheels. The front wheels will do the braking and the rear will do the engine forces. Not quite how it should be, because in real life the brake force is divided between all wheels, but it works in here.
It makes it possible to do a stationary burnout. ;) Hold throttle and brake simultaneously and burn some rubber.
The ABS will limit the amount of brake force, so the front wheels will never fully lock up and you'll always able to turn the car. Brake force will be slightly reduced while cornering.
Traction control will put a cap on the maximum engine torque. However, once the rpm gets too high, it will overcome the traction control. I'm still experimenting with some ideas to fix this. To recover from breaking through the traction control is to release the throttle once the wheels start spinning.
The traction control will make it easier for keyboard users to put the power down.
Little extra:
I've added a little wheel animation so it looks like the rear wheels are spinning.
